Annebel & Erik-Paul
Wedding photography Roelofarendsveen
This sweet couple has known each other for many years. The spark struck at a campsite in France, where Erik-Paul had a summer job. Since then they have not lost sight of each other and said their yes in the greenhouse at Van Wal in Roelofarendsveen.
On the way there, I had a Begonia cutting with me, because I knew Annebel is as plant crazy as I am. And indeed, when I photographed Erik-Paul in the morning I saw a lot of green around me. On the kitchen counter was also a cutting for me. From exchanging certainly does not come crying.
Annebel prepared in her childhood home, a beautiful space with lots of natural light. I saw the water and the quay and I thought: maybe she would dare to change outside. When I suggested that, she had to think for a moment, but soon said the legendary words, “I’m in an adventurous mood today, though. Big smile.
In Leiden, they wanted to see each other for the first time. The courtyard next to the Pieterskerk was chosen to be the setting. It was heartwarmingly sweet how they responded to each other. I felt it through my lens.
After wandering around the beautiful streets of Leiden for the photo shoot, I walked back to my car. At least, that’s what I thought. Peugeot 2008 was nowhere to be found, slight panic. This is pretty much how it must feel when you lose your child, I thought. Fortunately, I did find it again and next time I’ll put a pin on Maps ;).
Annebel and Erik-Paul had written personal vows for each other and they touched a nerve. It was a very beautiful moment with many kind words.
The rest of the day everyone enjoyed drinks and the elaborate dinner with open kitchen. Memories were made and there was a lot of fun. Also with grandma :).
Annebel sent us the following note after seeing the photos:
‘Found time today to look at the photos together and how beautiful they turned out! It was, and is, really special to see how much fun we have that day and how we can share it with those around us. Exactly as we look back on it now four weeks later.’
