Jens, Amanda and their two little sons (to eat) got married last June at Pavilion Puur. It was a beautiful, summer day. Frankly, it was so sunny that it was still quite challenging at times to work with the bright sunshine. But we got him under our thumb 😉
In the morning, Marvin was with the men and Laurette with the women’s camp. Jens and Amanda’s sons regularly stopped by their mother’s house and showed off their trendy outfits. The atmosphere was very relaxed.
But joy and sorrow can be close together. This became apparent when Jens and Amanda gave a speech just before dinner, recounting a great sadness: Jens’ sister died last year and Amanda’s father was also no longer around. We saw that it did a lot with the whole group of friends and family. And certainly with us as well. Sometimes then it feels uncomfortable to continue photographing when crying and comforting. Yet we try to capture these precious moments because they are part of life. We believe they (will) have a lot of value.
And then the joy took over again: the kids jumped on the stage and went wild with jokes and dances. How wonderful it is to have little people there.
We had a wonderful day with these families, were able to play with challenging light and beautiful moments.
We asked Jens and Amanda what they thought of the photos:
“We can only say; wow! How special to see our day reflected in this way. Viewing the photos in a slideshow with the music underneath….that does make it very special. You really captured some beautiful moments! So beautiful. We also want to share with you again how much we loved having you there this day. Extra special because you Laurette was there too. It went very naturally and you gave us a relaxed and warm feeling. The initial reactions to our photos have also been truly stunning. We sent the link to several friends and family members. The photos are still being viewed and really everyone is impressed!”
